Too Fat For Europe is a travelogue featuring the adventures of married comedians Joe Leibovich and Christiana Bendall Leibovich. In one week, the Memphis couple attempted to take in all the major sights of London, Paris, and Rome, and resulting blog posts generated enough attention that Joe — who uses the stage name Joey Hack — decided to develop them into a book.

Flyer: So how fat is too fat for Europe?

Joe Leibovich: About 114 pages. It's a pretty thin book, really.

What I mean is, when did you know you were too fat for Europe?

When I got on the plane in Atlanta. For the first time in my life I had to ask for a seat belt extender. That's when I first thought that I might be too big for the European experience.

Which of the places you visited was the funniest?

I don't know that any one place was funnier than another. England is interesting, because, as foreign places go, it's not all that foreign. It's just a little foreign. And they speak English. ... I'm not even Catholic, and I was slightly offended by how people were treating the Vatican. This is ground zero for one of the world's great religions, and people are treating it like Catholic EPCOT.

Can you share a story from the book?

This freaked me out most about Rome: Whenever there's the slightest hint of rain, thousands of dudes appear from nowhere trying to sell you an umbrella.

Joe Leibovich will sign copies of "Too Fat for Europe" when he performs with The Wiseguys improv comedy troupe at Cafe Eclectic on Saturday, May 14th, at 8 p.m.

The book is also available at amazon.com.
