The Marcus W. Orr Center for the Humanities hosts this talk by Kristen Iversen, director of the MFA program in creative writing at the University of Memphis and author of the memoir Full Body Burden: Growing Up in the Nuclear Shadow of Rocky Flats. The book details Iversen’s childhood in Colorado growing up near a secret nuclear weapons plant and with the secrecy within her own family. A booksigning follows the talk.
On Friday, Iversen signs copies and reads from Full Body Burden at Burke’s Book Store from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
