The Walker Museum Art Center in Minneapolis has asked one of the most important questions of this or any age: Are cat videos art? The answer: Who cares? Have a cheeseburger and waste a little time.

If there is an international language of the Internet, it's cat videos. The Walker made things unmistakably clear with the first Internet Cat Video Festival, which attracted thousands of live attendees and more than nine million views on YouTube.

The Walker's intent was to take a typically private activity, like watching cat videos on the Internet, and give it a public, social context. The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art brought the Walker's experiment to Memphis for Valentine's Day in 2013. It was so popular that "Must Love Cats" is back for one more LOL-worthy romp around the litter box.  

Although Friday night's cat-lovers party is sold out, the festival's video screening repeats on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

So just how popular is the Internet Cat Video Festival? When the festival founders at the Walker announced that the festival would be moved from the museum to the grandstand at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds, fans complained. When the price changed from free to $10, they complained even louder. Then, when 11,000 people showed up to watch cat videos together, the grumbly, tight-fisted cat fans demolished attendance records.
