Is Backyard Burger being ironic? Or has the fast food chain's marketing department hit upon the least effective slogan ever printed on a table tent? Bland-as-heck marketing materials promoting BYB's "loaded potato soup" feature a white bowl full of the cheese and bacon-laden stuff set against a soothing green background emblazoned with these unappetizing words: "The Most Exciting Thing to Happen to the Potato Since Idaho." Googling that phrase results in no direct hits. The closest match is a page titled Idaho Blows, the authors of which believe the potato-growing state should be given back to the British because it's so gosh darn boring.
Oscar the Grouch
In a story titled "Memphis Snubbed by Undefeated Filmmakers on Oscar Stage," Leigh Anne Tuohy told WREG that she "was so disappointed" when the Undefeated filmmakers didn't mention Manassas High School or the efforts of the kids, coaches, and families who were celebrated in the Oscar-winning film. The Undefeated filmmakers have said they really wanted to thank Memphis and the team but were cut off because of time constraints. Tuohy was played by Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock in the film The Blind Side and will never, ever let anybody forget it. Tuohy went on to say how she'll never forget the way she felt when Sandra Bullock thanked her in her Oscar acceptance speech.
