The Felice Brothers at the Hi-Tone Cafe

Born and bred in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York, the Felice Brothers — three actual brothers augmented by a couple of musical friends — proffers a Yankee vision of folk-rock, a stomping communal sound rooted in Dylan and the Band's Woodstock-recorded Basement Tapes. After several local performances in recent years — including a spirited set I caught at Minglewood Hall opening for the Old Crow Medicine Show — the band returns to town this week in support of their new, fifth album, Celebration, Florida, released via the Mississippi-based Fat Possum label. The Felice Brothers play the Hi-Tone Café Saturday, April 9th, with Diamond Doves. Doors open at 9 p.m. Admission is $13 to $15. — Chris Herrington
