From NewsRadioOnline.com: Legendary Memphis market vet Tom Prestigiacomo is leaving Hot AC WMC-FM (FM 100) after 27 years in afternoons for similar duties at crosstown Citadel rival WKIM-FM (Kim FM), beginning August 20. Prestigiacomo says the move is a "chance to build something new in a building that's loaded with talent for a city that loves personalities."

"This is a great day for WKIM-FM and our Citadel radio cluster," said market manager Sherri Sawyer. "Tom Prestigiacomo is the ultimate radio professional. His passion for his listeners and for the betterment of our city combine to enhance the newly launched WKIM-FM even further on the road to becoming a destination for Memphis radio listeners."

"I'm excited about the opportunity to work with an outstanding career broadcaster like Tom," added PD Lance Tidwell. "Not only does Tom bring Kim FM one of the elite talents in Memphis, but from dealing with him I can tell you it brings us one of the nicest guys in all of radio, too."

Hahaha. The Memphis radio market is so DEAD. What the hell is Kim FM? Never heard of it - no frequency noted. Maybe I should look under 'K' on my radio dial. If Tom really wanted to make a smart move, he'd get the hell out of Memphis. There is NOTHING left on the dial worth listening to.

It's great to see the best talent of Memphis radio leaving Clearchannel stations to pursue other avenues! I don't know where KIM FM is on the dial, but I'll look for it! Tom has always been a class act in radio! Clearchannel has let go some of their best and are suffering for it! Kudos to Drake and Zeke for going to 98.1 The Max from Rock 103! FM 100 let Steve Conley go and kept Ron and Karen? Go figure! Steve was certainly the less irritating of the three! Clearchannel has monopolized the industry long enough! Let's support these other channels and make Memphis the Music City it should be!

Not to be a party-pooper, but FM100 never belonged to Clear Channel. Entercom (WRVR, AM680, SNAP 94.1) bought the WMC radio stations from CBS Radio last year. Entercom, who had booted WRVR's beloved Steve Butler a few years ago, then tossed Steve Conley and TP into the ditch. If it weren't for the fact they own our only Air America affiliate, I would NEVER listen to their stations.

It's great to see where you landed. I remember those days when you were at WAKY. Enjoyed hearing you on the radio and seeing you at Seneca when we were there. My name is Gary and I've now live in the Fort Worth area. Keep it going.
