Strike up the Tennessee/Mississippi Senate border wars again. After being deposed by Tennessee Senator Bill Frist four years ago as Senate Majority Leader, Mississippi Senater Trent Lott is now battling Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander for the position of Republican Senate Whip.
From CNN.com: "Senator Lott is running for Republican Whip," Susan Irby, Lott's spokeswoman said. "His name will be on the ballot. We are closing in on victory."
But Alexander also claims to have the votes he needs to win the Senate's second-highest ranking minority spot.
We should know who's bluffing and who's holding by the end of the day.
By the way, we're not exactly certain that's ol' Trent's new official picture, but if it is, we've gotta give him props for trying to change his image.
