About "RIP, Stan Musial (1920-2013)":
"What a terrible loss. He was looked up to by millions. He was one of my favorites as a kid. And he did everything without doping." — clarion

About "Starting Over" and the Community Group's move to Orange Mound:
"It's not easy to do something truly in the calling of Jesus. I wish you well." — unblinkingeye

About "A Sci-Fy Future" and robots in America's distribution center:
"It's just another Industrial Revolution. Robots are inevitable. They can work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without vacation, and they aren't unionized, so no threat of strikes. There will be other unskilled labor jobs though, always will be." — GroveReb84

About "Winter Is Here. Be Very Afraid, Memphis" and our city's typical reaction to snow or ice:
"Pullleeez! This is Memphis! We don't rush to the store for bread and milk ... we hit the Kroger for Pancho's cheese dip & chips. Don't believe me? Check the dip aisle." — Jana Wilson

Comment of the Week:
About "Letter from the Editor" and the whole Forrest Park controversy:
"I think we should just move the General, wife, and horse back to Elmwood and rededicate the park to someone with a more positive, inspiring image that will truly reflect what Memphis is all about. That's right. Lawler Park with a 20' tall statue of the King pile-driving Andy Kaufman. At the entrance could be a smaller statue of Jerry, complete with crown, cape, and world heavyweight title belt, hooked up to a gas jet so that fire periodically spurts from his hand, lighting the way. And off to one side, a gazebo that looks like a wrestling ring where a band could play 'Also Sprach Zarathustra' every Saturday morning. — jeff
