About "Council Members Clash Over Fullilove's Claim of Norris Meeting":
"Wow. Don't say it on the city record, but find a way to fling it. Too bad a calliope is too large to put in tow with this circus of a woman. Maybe Ace Cannon should play as she comes in the next meeting. Just imagine Benny Hill saying and doing everything she has said and done these past few years." — HumbuckerStudios.com

About "Thumbs Down to Speed Camera in School Zones":
"I agree this is strictly a revenue-generating scheme and perhaps the laziest way out of a sticky budget situation. I'd like to add that the fines produced by these cameras are harder on poor people when you consider the cost of a ticket as a percentage of income. I'm very disappointed with the city council on this one." — D_Bucket

About "Letter from the Editor" and trash collection woes in our city:
"How about instead of cutting that service, we actually get someone who knows how to run it efficiently and get what we're paying for? How about enforcing the city ordinances that require contracted clean out, set out, renovation and yard services to actually haul their own debris off instead of just setting it on the curb for the city to pick up or bill those extra that do." — lifespalette

About "SOS Memphis Protests Dropped Charges for Demetria Hogan," the animal services worker charged with cruelty:
"Let us just face the facts. There are a lot of people who don't put that much importance on animal cruelty. Is it a majority? Probably not. Is it a sizable minority? Probably so. Why do you think there is big money in dog fighting and cock fighting? Me, personally, I don't like animal cruelty. However, I will not equate animal cruelty with crimes against persons. I will not put more value and weight on animals than humans." — oldtimeplayer

Comment of the Week:
About "The Show Must Go On" and budget cuts facing the Tennessee Shakespeare Company:
"'For I can raise no money by vile means: By heaven, I had rather coin my heart, And drop my blood for drachmas, than to wring from the hard hands of peasants their vile trash.' — Julius Caesar, Act 4, Scene 3. It will be missed if unfunded." — thecatsmeow
