    Nashville-based Army veteran Odie Lindsey has had stories published in Best American Short Stories, the Iowa Review, Columbia, and the anthology Forty Stories, among others. This week, his short story collection, We Come to Our Senses (W. W. Norton & Company), will be released and Lindsey will be at The Booksellers of Laurelwood on Thursday, July 28th, to read from and discuss the book.

    On a completely different line of discussion, an interesting thing happened to me as I was reading book #28 of the year, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro: I struggled to an almost existential degree to keep reading it. It was the opposite of a page-turner.
