We have winners for the 901 Silver Tequila contest.

In conjunction with the Flyer's story about Memphis-inspired 901 drinks, we asked you to mix your own cocktails … and the results were colorful.

We're calling it a tie for Jimmy Franklin's blue-tinged Delta Blues Martini and Scottie Rokas' green Memphis Mirimichi.

Read on for recipes.

Franklin has worked for at B.B. King's as the bar manager for 2 years. The Delta Blues Martini is available at Itta Bena.

The Delta Blues Martini
1 oz 901 Tequila
1 oz Blue Curacao Liqueur
1/2 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1 oz Lemonade

Rim martini glass with sugar. Pour the 901, Blue Curacao, Midori, Triple Sec, and lemonade in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, strain into martini glass. Garnish with lemon slice.

Rokas, who does sales for South Central Sound, worked as a bartender for 12 years and still enjoys experimenting.

Memphis Mirmichi
1 1/2 oz 901 Silver Tequila
1/2 oz Melon Liquor (Midori) — not too much, do not want too green, a light green (almost clear)
1/2 Fresh lime, squeezed
Splash Orange Juice
Splash Pineapple

Rim martini glass with sugar crystals.
Fill ice shaker with ice; pour all into shake tin, shake until ice crystals form.
Pour into glass rimmed with Sugar-(ice crystals should float on top-IF you
made JUST the correct amount of the cocktail)!

Congratulations to Franklin and Rokas, who each received $20 worth of Flyer Saucer bucks.
