One morning a couple weeks ago, Lucy Davis, the 7-year-old daughter of Flyer staffer Chris Davis, had a little crying spell.
Lucy, along with her twin Josie, was to visit Dinstuhl’s Pleasant View candy-making facility that day with her class and the sheer anticipation was more than she could take.
I feel ya, kid … which is also to say, pass the hankies, because Dinstuhl’s is having its annual holiday open house on Sunday, November 8th, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Deborah Carter, a manager with Dinstuhl's, says that the company has been holding the open houses since before she can remember.
While the candy-makers make different Dinstuhl’s products on different days, Carter guesses they’ll be making the company’s famous cashew crunch for the event.
Guests can try out samples and buy the candies at a discount.
“It’s a good time to check out what’s going on here,” Carter says, “to see old-fashioned, family candy-making.”
