Two of my coworkers and I stopped by the newly opened Au Fond today for lunch.
Mike and I both opted for the pimento cheese sandwich. Very nice.
Hannah went for the burger, made with Donnell Century Farm beef. Hannah said the burger was perfectly cooked and the homemade ketchup of tomatoes and red peppers was excellent
The sandwiches average around $8, which is more than reasonable as portions are generous. Other lunch menu items included a charcuterie plate, a turkey hot brown, and fish and chips.
The market is still being stocked, but there were several breads for sale — from small baguettes for $1 to large loafs of whole grain bread for $6 — as well as cheeses, olives, a few bags of lettuce greens from Flora Farms, and more.
Au Fond, at 938 S. Cooper, is open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
