I have two friends who work in a building in the Ridgeway Loop, and all they ever talk about is Lisa’s Lunchbox and how great it is. I decided to “Like” Lisa’s on Facebook and started getting a daily update of their specials, which made me hungry and a little jealous. On a rare Friday off, I was finally able to give Lisa’s a try.
Tucked inside the Ridgeway Center, Lisa’s is completely camouflaged. I never would have found it on my own. Once inside, I immediately felt the warmth of the servers and the camaraderie of the patrons. I had a hard time choosing between the freshly made salads, sandwiches, and soups. My friend nudged me toward the Baby Blues Salad, which contains baby spinach, strawberries, mandarin oranges, grilled chicken, savory pecans, and crumbled blue cheese. The blue cheese is so chunky, I had a hard time distinguishing it from the chicken. (This is a good thing.) Now that I know where Lisa’s is, I plan to be a repeat customer.
