Barbecue Fest: Shuttle Service

Harrah's Tunica is providing a free shuttle service between downtown and the Fairgrounds during Barbecue Fest.

Louis and I hopped on at Beale and 2nd this morning around 11:30 a.m.

Along for the ride were Dave Mundis and Frank Sledjeski, members of Too Sauced To Pork.

Last year, they placed 7th in chicken and 8th in baked beans.

"Everything in the top 10 is a victory to us," says Frank.

The way back downtown from the Fairgrounds was uneventful until the bus reached 2nd and passengers started to get on to go the fest.

Within blocks, things were getting rowdy. Innuendos passed lips.

I suspect it was total chaos by the time they reached 3rd.

The shuttle runs every 15 to 20 minutes and takes about 20 to 25 minutes each way.

Stops are at 2nd at the MATA stops at Exchange, Court, Madison, Union, and Beale.

The service continues today until midnight; Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.; and Satuday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
