Pita Cafe

I've been around, but I'm not apologizing because I'm grown. Yet, after my visit to Pita Cafe, I do see the value of discretion.

The owner Musa Mahmond asked, First visit here? ... Yes. ... Where else have you had pita?

My list started. The owner's face fell. And then my list went on and on.

What can I say? I like a good pita.

But I was promised the best, and this fat wrap with its just-made falafel, fresh ingredients, and outstanding pita bread was perfect in every way ($5.99).

Musa's MO is to have first-timers, if they're ordering to-go, to take at least two big bites of whatever dish before they leave. I really had to resist not eating the whole thing there.

Musa said he'd like to find a small place in Midtown. If that happens, we'll be seeing a lot more of each other.
