For the print issue tomorrow, Hannah Sayle wrote about the fried pie at Miss Polly's on Beale.

I'll leave it to her to fill you in on all the specifics, but I will say that I came face to face with one of these about a month back.

The pies (your choice of apple or peach) are served in individual frying pans, having been warmed in a generous amount of butter and topped with ice cream, if you're so inclined.

Needless to say, these pretty much defy good sense, especially given the butter. But sometimes that's exactly what's called for.

The pie a la mode will set you back $6.50.
