Last week, I stopped by the Cottage for a late lunch. While I was more than a little tempted to get breakfast (served all day!), I went for the vegetable plate ($8.50 with drink).
Mac-and-cheese, fried green tomatoes, side salad, and greens.
I cannot resist fried green tomatoes, and the Cottage's are done just right — the cornmeal crust is substantial enough but not at all gritty or hard.
Now, about those greens ... The waitress didn't think they were made with meat, but the piece of pork I encountered said otherwise.
It happens, no big deal.
