India Palace and Birthday Meals

The birthday boy wanted India Palace for lunch. The rule was he gets to choose AND everything he said that day was true.

The second part of the bargain was by far the toughest to swallow.

And while we had just eaten at India Palace, I was happy to go back to the buffet. The palak paneer is one of my favorites, and there's much to choose from ... vegetable fritters, aloo matar, masalas, etc.

These birthday meals always remind me of when we were kids and got to choose what we had to eat. I chose a home-cooked meal and dessert, but my brother wanted Piccadilly.

I asked around. One either requested home-cooked hamburger stroganoff (!) or it was Patrick's or Paulette's for Sunday brunch with turnovers and strawberry butter. For one it was Benihana all the way, another it was the Hungry Fisherman.

I'm curious about yours? For your kid-years birthday meals, what was your request?
