Aldo's Pizza Pies

Pam, Hannah, and I checked out Aldo's Pizza Pies today.

This trio started with the Bruschetta Trio ($6.50).

It's pesto, tapenade (the standout), and sundried tomato pesto. We quickly ran out of bread on this one.

Hannah and I also split a very good Greek salad ($8.50). I often find the vinaigrette/feta combo on these are too sour for my tastes, but not so for Aldo's. The feta was mild, and the vinaigrette was citrus.

Of course, we were there for pizza pies. I cautioned restraint, but there was none of that, and so ...

... the Vodka Pie (12-inch, $15), with mozzarella and vodka cream:

... and the Mezza Luna (12-inch, $17), poblano cream, fontina and trugole cheeses, eggplant, roasted pepper, sundried tomato, and artichoke sauce:

... and, of course, the Memphis (12-inch, $15), bbq pork and sauce with (first time I've seen this) a scoop of cole slaw in the center.

The Mezza Luna was my favorite. I liked the heft of the thin, New York-style crust and the hint of heat from the peppers.

Pam and Hannah were partial to the Memphis. The bbq sauce was kept to a respectable amount, and they appreciated the cole slaw.
