Clear your schedule for tomorrow, October 18th, folks. The Memphis Botanic Garden is hosting a Botanical Biergarten, and Ari Weinzweig from Zingerman's Deli will make an appearance at Muddy's Bake Shop.
The outdoor Biergarten, from 6 to 9 p.m., is a benefit for the garden and the Harwood Center and will feature food from a dozen restaurants and 30-plus beers from around the world.
Come hungry because there will be pizza from the Hi-Tone, fried pies from Miss Polly's, mini chimichangas from Swanky's, bbq sliders from Hog Wild, cupcakes from Gigi's, and much more. Fratelli's offering is both thematically fitting and alliteratively pleasing: sauerkraut soup shots.
The beers, provided by Southwestern, range from Oktoberfests from Paulaner, Abita, and Crown Valley to lagers from Spaten and Xingu. There will also be ciders, wheat beers, pale and brown ales, stouts, pilasters, and more.

Ari Weinzweig is one of the founders of the Ann Arbor-based Zingerman's Deli and a flag-waver of the first order for bacon and good foods in general.
Weiznweig is in the area for this weekend's Southern Foodways Alliance symposium in Oxford. He'll stop by Muddy's, Thursday at 6 p.m., to talk about food and answer questions. He'll also sign his books, which includes Zingerman's Guide to Better Bacon: Stories of Pork Bellies, Hush Puppies, Rock 'n' Roll Music and Bacon Fat Mayonnaise.
