New Virus Cases Rise On Testing Push, Total Positive Rate Remains Low

New coronavirus cases in Shelby County rose by 92 from Wednesday to Thursday as 1,650 tests were given, which was 1,037 more tests given than Tuesday.

Wednesday's testing put the day's positivity rate at around 5.5 percent percent. Tuesday low new case count of 28 made a positivity rate of 4.4 percent. Health officials say this number needs to stay below 10 percent. So far, a total of 36,878 coronavirus tests have been given here. The death toll rose by six to 64.
