Sound Advice: The Sultana, Judith Stevens, Michaela Caitlin

Tonight (Friday, February 3) venerable local acoustic/folk venue Otherlands will offer an intriguing bill boasting three of Memphis' most exciting up-and-coming artists: The Sultana, Michaela Caitlin, and Judith Stevens.

The Sultana is a folk/alt-rock troupe reminiscent of the rootsy side of bigger indie bands like My Morning Jacket or Bright Eyes.

Caitlin is a emotive singer-songwriter with tremendous vocal range and an assuredly bright future.

But the best reason to attend tonight's show may well be Stevens (billing herself for this one as Judith and the Nightmare), who, for better or worse, is fearless performer and gifted musician/songwriter than rarely fails to shock, surprise, and/or entertain.
