The Warm-Up: Carrie Elkin & Robby Hecht

A legion of folk musicians from across the country and around the globe descended on Memphis this week for the International Folk Alliance Conference at the Downtown Marriott. And a couple of them dropped by Ardent Studios.

Austin, Texas, singer-songwriter Carrie Elkin performed her song "Lift Up the Anchor":

And Nashville's Robby Hecht followed with his own "Pot of Gold":

Elkin and Hecht hung around afterward to talk with Warm Up host Rachel Hurley and play a few more songs:

Both artists are performing at the Folk Alliance Conference. Hecht will also be performing, along with Sandra McCracken and Katie Herzig, at the Hi-Tone Café tonight. Doors open at 7 p.m.
