Hackett CEO of CMOM

Former Memphis mayor Richard “Dick” Hackett has been named CEO of The Children’s Museum of Memphis (CMOM). The 57-year-old ex-politico was instrumental in helping the museum get on the ground back in 1990 when he awarded CMOM a $1-a-year/25 year lease of the National Guard Armory at Central and Hollywood. In his new position, Hackett will manage the museum’s daily operations, as well its staff of 42. He will also act as chief fundraiser. Hackett is the third CEO in the museum’s 16-year history.
