The first South End Pocket Park is complete at the corner of Tennessee and Georgia. To celebrate, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Thursday, April 12 at 3 p.m. to officially introduce the park to its neighbors and kick off the Downtown Home Show at SouthEnd.
This park is a shining example of what the future holds for this emerging "Re-urbanist area," says Terry Lynch, Southland Companies.
The developers say that Pocket Parks are just one of the unique characteristics that will make the SouthEnd a true urban neighborhood. When complete, there will be hundreds of residential units, combined with retail, dining, entertainment, art, commercial and green space.
The Downtown Home Show at SouthEnd features 11 properties, one neighborhood; all with free admission, parking and shuttles. For more info on the show, go here.
