CORRECTION: The POTS/Circuit Playhouse Costume rental is actually taking place in THE NEW COSTUME SHOP on Union Avenue behind the new Playhouse on the Square building, which is still under construction. The new costume shop is on the third floor. My bad... There's a whole lotta new at Playhouse and old, old habits are awfully hard to break.
Theatergoers looking for something a little different... okay, lot different will want to check into Boxing Unformed an original script created by Our Own Voice Theatre Troupe. It's an improvisational production about schizophrenia written by long-time troupe member Randy Youngblood, the author behind OOV's wonderful rock musical Supergroups A+.
Those looking for something a bit more traditional may wish to visit the University of Memphis for the gripping courtroom drama that has been copied by more TV sitcoms than anything this side of A Christmas Carol: 12 Angry Jurors. It's all about the tedious re-thinking of a near-unanimous guilty verdict based on one dissenting view. 55-years after its first performance It remains a gripping study of reasonable doubt.
