If you're pathetic and can only make to one show this weekend why not make it Tartuffe? This is one of the great political satires, all wrapped up in a giddy, Comedia-inspired sex-farce. The Hattiloo's mostly fine production starts slow and is a little ragged at the corners but when it hits it hits hard. You really don't want to miss Jonathan Underwood's fresh, super funny take on Moliere's nasty man of the cloth. Trust me.
The Big Red Curtain: Tartuffe
Voices of the South is previewing Gloria Baxter's newest narrative Wild Legacy at the Evergreen Theatre, You can read about Baxter's big Arctic adventure here.
Also of interest: Tonight and tomorrow (Friday & Saturday) Playback Memphis is performing at TheatreSouth in First Congo Church in Cooper Young. Playback is a participatory event mixing storytelling with improv. They do a pretty good job of explaining what they do right here.
