In 2009, both Duke Calhoun (2,981) and Carlos Singleton (2,365) broke the Tiger record for career receiving yardage. The previous record of 2,123 yards had been held by Earnest Gray since 1978. Who held the mark before Gray broke it in 1977?

James Thompson finished his career (1971-73) atop the Tiger chart for receiving yardage with 1,183 yards. Both Gray and Keith Wright passed Thompson during the 1977 season. Thompson currently ranks 14th alltime, with Wright 12th.
