Blues on the Bluff

When: Sat., July 25, 6:30 p.m. 2009

Community radio station WEVL’s Blues on the Bluff party returns for its 21st year on the grounds of the National Ornamental Metal Museum, allowing the quintessential Memphis experience of hearing great blues and soul music and consuming barbecue against the backdrop of the Mississippi River. This week’s Blues on the Bluff kicks off with hill-country blues inheritor Kenny Brown at 6:30 p.m., continues with the vintage soul sounds of the Bo-Keys (pictured), fresh off a recent performance at New York’s Lincoln Center, and concludes with harmonica master Blind Mississippi Morris and his band the Pocket Rockets. Blues on the Bluff runs from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 25th. Admission is $15. Food concessions are provided by Central BBQ. — Chris Herrington
