Cohen, Corker Make GQ’s ‘Who’s Hot/Who’s Not’ Congressional List

Of the 15 new members of Congress who get special attention in the current issue of Gentleman’s Quarterly, two are Tennesseans: 9th District congressman Steve Cohen (“a funky Jew…like Jackie Mason, but funny") and U.S. Senator Bob Corker (“lonelier than a Jew at a Hezbollah picnic,” as the only new Republican senator). Did Mel Gibson write those thumbnails? Oh, there’s more…

Cohen is rated way up there in “magnetism” but is regarded (don’t ask us why) as more susceptible to scandal than Corker, whose magnetism deficit is compensated somewhat by his relatively high score as “presidential material.”

But surely the point is that both Tennesseans are regarded as worth this kind of second look. Sorry, the magazine’s feature (“Zagatt Guide to the New Congress”) isn’t online yet; we’ll let you know when it is.

Meanwhile, our boy Steve holds his own with Sean Hannity and his faux-Democratic cohort, Alan Colmes, on the Fairness Doctrine. Catch it.

For the record, we are formally predicting here that Steve "Prime Time" Cohen will overcome his native bashfulness and be featured in at least one major national media outlet every week that he serves in Congress. It's all good, too.
