DWYER TELLS SOME TALES

General Sessions Court Judge Tim Dwyer will sign copies of his memoir, "Sometimes You Have to Laugh to Keep From Crying," today from 5 to 7 pm. at Borders Book Store, 6685 Poplar Ave.

The book chronicles three generations of the Dwyer family in local political and the judiciary, and stories about most of the famous political names of the last half century. Some of the tales (one concerning the late City Commissioner Buddy Dwyer on the elevator, especially) are priceless.

The author is a General Sessions judge, who at the time of his election was the youngest such jurist ever elected in Shelby County. (Yes, he's got a story or two about that, as well.)
