Facebooked Finally, a Memphis Bucket List ad on Facebook that actually depicts something on your Pesky Fly's bucket list.
Yelling at a hamburger is No. 358.
Selling Memphis We may be a sleepy, crime-ridden river town with obesity issues, but Memphis is hot stuff and everybody wants to steal a piece. According to broadwayworld.com, Memphis playwright Joe Di Pietro (not from Memphis), who created the Tony Award-winning musical, has written new material into the show for a week-long cameo appearance by New York radio personality "Cousin Brucie" Morrow.
Cousin Brucie's run coincides with the paperback release of his book Rock & Roll ... And the Beat Goes On. "I felt as if the script was written about my life in radio," Morrow said of the Broadway hit based on Memphis DJ Dewey Phillips' life in radio. Autographed copies of Morrow's book also will be on sale in the theater lobby.
Headline of the Week From The Commercial Appeal: "News of Bin Laden's death brings big end to full weekend in Memphis." Wouldn't it be even more awesome if the Grizzlies won, and we nuked North Korea?
Signs Last week, this sign at Midtown Vault Self Storage said, "Beat the Grizzlies." Harmless error or Kim Jong-il sympathizers?
