Before he was a grappler, Jerry "The King" Lawler was a professional sign painter working for wrestling legend Jackie Fargo and rockabilly artist Eddie Bond. As we all know, Lawler made his career as a performance artist, and the more successful he became, the more canvas and paint gave way to wrestling rings and TV screens. In recent years, the King has returned to his roots, creating some swell comic-book art and this fantastic set of trading cards for Topps. Sadly, no self portrait.
Although there are currently no adult businesses to regulate, the Board of Aldermen in Oxford, Mississippi, has passed an ordinance that would regulate them should some enterprising spirit open one. Of course, by "adult business" we mean strip joints, and according to the Mississippi Business Journal, the new rules were developed after a less strict ordinance expired in 2004. By identifying not one, but two parts of town where strip clubs might legally operate, city officials hope to avoid being overrun.
