And there are yet more plays tonight. David W. Christner s A Day in the Wife of Avery Mann opens at Christian Brothers University, and Fuddy Meers, a comedy about an amnesiac, opens in the Little Theatre at Theatre Memphis. Tonight s art openings are at: David Lusk Gallery for works by Rana Rochat and Jeane Umbreit; Delta Axis Contemporary Arts Center in Marshall Arts for In Celebration of Spring: The Contemporary Landscape, works by Philip Andrew Lewis, Susan Maakestad, John Dilg, Robin Braun, Arista Alanis, and Sam Prekop; down in Oxford above a really cool restaurant/bar called Jubilee, there s the Space Available Art Show, featuring the works of 13 artists; and at Palm Court tonight there s a reception for this weekend s Midtown Artist Market Spring Show, where you ll find almost every medium and price range. The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (fabulous) opens its weekend run tonight at Germantown Performing Arts Centre. FM 94.1 the Buzz celebrates its one-year birthday tonight with Buzz Birthday Bash #1 at the New Daisy, with Sister Haze, Ingram Hill, and Louise Goffin. Singer and guitar legend Junior Brown is at the Lounge. There s a Sierra Nevada Beer Dinner with The Ross Rice Band at the Flying Saucer. Little Bo Peep & Her Naughty Sheep are playing at the Map Room. The Reba Russell Band is at Patrick s. The Bouffants are at Automatic Slim s. And, as always, The Chris Scott Band is blowing out the walls at Poplar Lounge.
