Attention, indie film lovers: Memphis is among 10 cities chosen as destinations for the IFC Free Film Fest at the Memphis Pink Palace Museum running July 31st through August 2nd.

The outdoor film fest will screen uncut indies, including Raising Arizona, The Princess Bride, and Napoleon Dynamite. It's sponsored by the Independent Film Channel (IFC) and Comcast. The event, which features local filmmaker Craig Brewer, starts each night at 6 p.m. with pre-show activities, including a singalong from songs from one of the movies. Guests can bring food, beverages, and coolers, and park onsite. They're also encouraged to bring new or used DVDs that appeal to children and teenagers. These will be donated to Baptist Memorial Hospital’s pediatric unit.

The films will be screened on a 40' x 20' inflatable-air screen created specifically for this fest.
