Marvel Universe Live at FedExForum

And there came a day unlike any other when Earth's mightiest heroes were united to perform an arena-sized show featuring motorcycle stunts, explosions, and even more explosions. On that day, the Avengers of Marvel Universe Live! were born. The arena-sized touring show pairs Avengers with X-Men and pits this superhero supergroup against villains like Loki, the Red Skull, shape-shifting Skrulls, and all the forces of Hydra.

"Huge" is the word Taylor Tutt, the Collierville native making his hometown debut in the role of Thor, used to describe the spectacle. "It takes 30 trucks to move all of our stuff from town to town." What? No Quinjet? No S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier? Heimdall couldn't open the Bifrost bridge? The Marvel team couldn't find even one teleporter to move all that stuff?

"This is an entirely original story that exists outside Marvel's cinematic universe and outside of what's going on in the comics right now," Tutt says, explaining why he's neither female nor Chris Hemsworth. "I am my own Thor," he pronounces mightily. Tutt left Shelby County to attend college at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. After college, he went to work as a renaissance festival actor where he learned to ride horses, joust, and handle medieval weapons. He parlayed that experience into work as a daredevil stuntman in a Chinese amusement park. It was all good training for the role of a high-flying, hammer-wielding, armor-wearing Norse thunder god.

Tutt's not just an actor in the show, he's a fan who loves the motorcycle jumps and other two-wheeled stunts performed by Captain America, Black Widow, Red Skull, and Madame Hydra. "And we always get a huge audience reaction when the Hulk makes an appearance," he says. "Whenever you see Bruce Banner you know the Hulk's not far away, and the crowd erupts when he comes out."
