Not One, but Two Morrises for Mayor?!

We didn’t believe it either, when we first heard it, but it’s true: Bill Morris, who was mayor of Shelby County from 1978 to 1994 and ran an ill-starred race for governor of Tennessee in 1994, still has seeds to cook.

Morris, who first ran for city mayor in 1967 has told numerous friends he’d like to try it one more time , 40 years later, with another Morris -- Herman Morris, ex- of MLGW -- also in the field.

For the record, Bill Morris is the gent for whom the well-trafficked suburban parkway was named. Would they have to call it something else while he was running?
