Reaction Muted for Blueberry Nights

comment
Apparently, My Blueberry Nights, Hong Kong action auteur Wong Kar Wai’s first English language film, a portion of which was shot in Memphis, failed to impress its first audience at Cannes. According to Filmmaker Magazine’s blog, “the screening in the packed Salle Debussy was greeted with only a smattering of anemic applause.”

My Blueberry Nights is a road-pic starring Norah Jones as heartbroken waitress. Jude Law, Rachel Weisz, and Natalie Portman are also in the movie.

The Filmmaker Magazine reviewer said that Jones' acting was poor and that Law was too goodlooking for his role. She did note, however, that the film was visually beautiful.
